DFC Easter Tea Party

Sunday April 12, 12pm – 2pm in the Main Lobby of 85 Bleecker 

All members are welcome to join. Tea, finger sandwiches and other snacks will be served.

Kevin Courrier Film Festival

Launching April 6th 

All members we welcome to join us as we revisit the films that were the nearest and dearest to Kevin. The festival will take place throughout the month of April and will kick off on the 6th. More dates and details will be out soon.

Member Memorial Event

Wednesday March 25, 6pm-7pm in the Community Room 

Please join us as we celebrate and honour the lives of members of our community who are no longer with us. Lite refreshments will be served.

St. Paddy’s Day Pop Up!

Tuesday March 17, 6pm-7pm in the main lobby of 85 Bleecker 

Celebrate St. Paddys day with friends an neighbours in the main lobby of 85 Bleecker. Food, tunes and a few beers will be on hand. Hope to see you there.

DFC Recycling Program – March 2020 Pick Up Dates

DFC Recycling Program – February 2020 Pick Up Dates

All members of the co-op, regardless of age or physical ability, are welcome to participate in the Recycling Program. Simply leave your recycling in clear plastic bags in front of your unit on specified pick up dates and times. Please do not leave items in front of your unit outside of the posted dates.
– Volunteers will not pick up items that are in black, green or opaque bags
– Please ensure that you are only placing accepted recycling items into your bags. If you aren’t sure, please visit the city’s Waste Wizard page or contact Ryan Hayward for printed materials.
– Please do not place any organic waste in your recycling bags. It’s just gross and unpleasant for volunteers to handle.

 The Cerebral Palsy foundation will be sending a truck to DFC to pick up your unwanted;


Items that will not be accepted: 

  • Books / Magazines
  • Baby Furniture (cribs, play pens, strollers etc.,)
  • Large Furniture (couches, chairs, tables etc.,)
  • Anything in poor or unusable condition.

Simply bag or box your donations and bring them right to the truck. For more information, please contact Ryan in the co-op office.

DFC Explores… KEW Beach & Winter Station Art Exhibits

We will be hosting a day trip out to the cities KEW Beach area to explore the area, grab some lunch out and view the 2020 Winter Station Art Installations. Memory and Aging: What’s Normal, What’s Not, and What You Can Do About It?

Monday March 30th starting at 7pm in the Community Room

 DFC is excited to host Dr. Nicole Anderson of Baycrest Health Sciences for a discussion on how memory and cognition change as we age, what is considered ?normal? and when to be concerned. Learn how health and lifestyle factors can affect memory, and about strategies you can use to improve it.

All members are welcome to attend. Snacks and refreshments will be on hand.

DFC Comedy Show

Thursday April 16 starting at 6:30pm

We are super excited to announce that we have partnered Arianne Tong, a self-described “high-energy, positively sardonic performer”, to curate a full-on Stand Up Comedy show here at the co-op.

The outstanding line-up includes:
