All members are welcome to join as we celebrate the beauty of the sung, spoken and written word. The event will feature a roster of local talent from DFC and the larger community and will be set against against a warm and inviting cocktail party atmosphere.

Grab your suits, DFC is going to the beach! All members are welcome to join us on our trip out to Victoria beach in Coubourg. While there, guests will have plenty of time to swim and enjoy their time by the water or venture into historic Downtown Cobourg to wander around and take in the sites. Here is what you need to know;
Attendance: We require between 20 (minimum) and 35 (maximum) to make this trip happen! There is a refundable $10.00 fee to secure your spot. It would be super helpful for members planning to attend talk the event up to others members.
Weather: Like all co-op bus trips, weather will be a big player in this trip.
Cancellation: Members will be notified no later than July 25th should the trip need to be canceled / postponed due to low attendance or weather.

Title: 2019 Indigenous Arts Festival
Description: The 7th Annual Indigenous Arts Festival is happening June 21-23 down at Fort York. This immersive and totally-free-festival celebrates Indigenous culture through storytelling, art, film, food and the annual Na-Me-Res Traditional Pow-Wow! Looking to learn more? If so, be sure to check out the Visitor Centre Orientation Theatre where the Native Canadian Centre of Toronto will be hosting workshops on the origin of the Pow-Wow, significance of various dance and regalia styles, costume versus regalia, and enjoy demonstrations performed.
We are organizing a group from DFC to attend the festival on Saturday June 22. For those interested in going, head to the main lobby of 85 Bleecker for 11:00am (sharp!) to meet up with member Darryl Ramsey. From here, the group will travel via TTC to the Fort York grounds. The co-op can assist members with TTC fare if needed.
