Winters Journey

A Musical Recital 


 Please join Barry St. Denis (Tenor) and David Swan (Pianist) for an intimate recital of Franz Schubert’s Winterreise (Winter’s Journey), Wilhelm Müller’s sumptuous poems of love and loss set to Schubert’s hauntingly beautiful music.

Black History Month at DFC

Film Screening w/ Kevin Courrier – Pressure Point
Sidney Poitier plays a psychoanalyst in a Federal prison during the Second World War who treats a young incarcerated American Nazi (Bobby Darin) suffering from blackouts. But their sessions do more than cure his malady. They instead delve deeper inside the root causes of his racism.

David Gordon Green’s drama follows a group of black kids growing up in a depressed rural town in North Carolina, as seen through the eyes of 12-year-old Nasia. After breaking up with her show-off boyfriend Buddy (played by Curtis Cotton III), she withdraws from her delinquent friends and becomes romantically interested in a strange, introverted boy named George Washington.

Black Boys
DFC has purchased a bloc of 10 tickets for the play Black Boys . The play is described as a “timely exploration of queer male Blackness” and is created from the lives of three people seeking a deeper understanding of themselves, of each other, and of how they encounter the world .

Sake 101

Tuesday February 13, starting at 7pm in the Community Room 

Co-op member Mymi Jarrell will lead this informative workshop all about sake – the official libation of Japan! As we sample different kinds of sake, we’ll learn about all the variations and how they are made. There will be plenty of sushi will be on hand to enjoy and pair with our sake!

GAME ON! Board Game Days




We will be hosting Games Days each Saturday in February for anyone that would like to participate. We will have games on hand to play but guests are welcome to bring favourites from home. Snacks and refreshments will be on hand. We hope to see you there!

DFC Christmas Dinner Party!


Monday December 25 in the Community Room  

DFC is thrilled to invite you to our 3rd Annual Christmas Dinner Party! We will start with coffee and lite refreshments at 3:30pm and aim to have dinner at around 5:00pm.

The Co-op will take care of providing the turkey and some side dishes. Guests are welcome (but not required) to contribute a dish pot luck style. All members are welcome to attend. 2 of a Kind Craft Sale & Holiday Social



Sunday December 10, 10am – 4pm in the Main Lobby of 85 Bleecker 

Please join us and rev up your holiday spirit! There will be some great baked goods and crafts for purchase made by members of Diane Frankling Housing Co-op. The co-op will be selling all the organic and unpasteurized honey made by the bees in our hive this past summer! We will also be making seasonal decorations and decorating the Co-op Christmas Tree!
